Brendan Rodgers opens up on Liverpool sacking



Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has opened up on how he was sacked by the club.

Rodgers arrived at Liverpool in 2012, but he was sacked three years later. The decision was announced after Liverpool drew 1-1 with Everton at Goodison Park in 2015.

The Northern Irishman has stated that he was unaware of what was going on behind the scenes. He first heard about the news when FSG chief Mike Gordon gave him a call.

Rodgers spoke to The Beautiful Game Podcast: “There were a few stories but I didn’t know a thing. Clearly the decision was (already) made but I wasn’t aware of it.

“The first I spoke to the ownership was with Mike Gordon on the drive back home after the game.

“When I arrived at the training ground, I got in the car and I was driving home and I got the call from Mike. That was the first time I knew
