Controversial artiste, Naira Marley has reacted to the letter sent to the Minister Of Aviation by Executive Jet CEO.    Naira Marley Nigerians have taken to social media to hilariously react to the letter Executive Jet CEO wrote to Minister of Aviation folllowing the suspension of the charter service for flying Naira Marley and his crew to the drive-in concert he headlined in Abuja over the weekend.  Recall that the Chairman/CEO of Executive Jet Services, Sam Iwuajoku in his apology letter to the Minister of Aviation said the flight Naira Marley and his crew boarded was meant for a Judge. COVID-19: Lagos Govt Stops Planned Reopening Of Worship Centers

The Lagos State Government has stopped the reopening of worship centers initially scheduled for Friday, June 19 (mosques) and Sunday, June 21 (churches). Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the decision at a press briefing on Tuesday. A three-man panel of the Appeal Court has upheld an earlier ruling by a High Court suspending Oshiomhole as APC National Chairman.    Adams Oshiomhole   Adams Oshiomhole's suspension as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been upheld by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.   In a judgment delivered on Tuesday evening, a three-man panel of the court dismissed Oshiomhole’s appeal against an earlier judgment of a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a report by TheNation confirmed.   The appellate court held that Oshiomhole’s appeal was without merit.   The FCT High Court had, in its judgment in March, held among others that Oshiomhole could no longer function as the APC National Chairman having been suspended by his local branch, a suspension he faild to challenged before the party’s National Working Committee (NEC) suspended him.                           ...

Police nab man who allegedly raped, murdered sister-in-law

A middle-aged man, Aminu Bala has been arrested in Zamfara state for allegedly, raping his brother’s wife. Police said after raping Hauwa Iliyasu, the suspect killed her. Speaking to journalists in the state capital Gusau, the spokesman of the Police Command in Zamfara state, SP Mohammed Shehu, said they have arrested Aminu Bala who was alleged to have raped and murdered his elder brother’s wife, Mallam Hauwau Iliyasu at her matrimonial home in the state. He said that the suspect confessed to raping the housewife and killing her after the dastardly act. Minister: Nigeria is heading towards recession

Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed, has revealed that the coronavirus pandemic and falling oil prices are set to force the county’s economy into recession. Ahmed made the comments after the National Economic Summit meeting in Abuja on Thursday. “On the economy, COVID-19 has resulted in the collapse in oil prices,” she said. “This will impact negatively, and the impact has already started showing on the federation’s revenues and on the foreign exchange earnings. “Net oil and gas revenue and influx to the federation account in the first quarter of 2020 amounted to N940.91billion. This represented a shortfall of N125.52 billion or 31% of the prorated amount that is supposed to have been realized by the end of that first quarter.” She added that the economic contraction will multiply the misery of the poor. “The crisis will only multiply this misery,” she said. “The economic growth in Nigeria, that is the GDP, could in the worst case scenario, contract by as much as –8.94% in 2020. COVID-19: FG Warn States Against Reopening Of Schools And Viewing Centres

States anticipating to reopen schools and other activities of mass gatherings have been told to suspend such contemplations.  Boss Mustapha   The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic has issued a warning to states proposing to reopen schools and other activities of mass gatherings.   The PTF said states should suspend such contemplations.   It stated that the relaxation of restrictions  “does not mean carelessness and that life is back to normal”.   Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF and Chairman of the PTF, Mr Boss Mustapha, who gave the warning on Monday during the daily press briefing by the task force in Abuja, lamented the continued violation of measures put in place to curb the spread of the virus, including ban on inter-state travel.   It would be recalled that some states of the federation had recently indicated plans to reopen some activities that encourage crowding and mass gatherings. ...

Concerns as four senators died within six months The senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Adebayo Sikiru Osinowo, is dead. Osinowo, popularly known as Pepperito in the state political circle, died at the First Cardiologist Hospital, Lagos, after a brief illness. Details of the cause of his death as at the time of filing this report were still unknown. The German government, through its Consulate General is not left out in the support. In her generosity, the country has again shown commitment to ensuring that the deadly pandemic is totally wiped out in Nigeria by donating €300,000 worth of items to the Nigerian government.
