The study, published in Nature Communications, a scientific journal, on Tuesday, revealed that the test — christened PanSeer — could detect cancer in 95% of individuals who had no symptoms before but diagnosed with the disease later. The researchers found that it could also test cancer in the different parts of the body including stomach, gullet, bowel, lungs and liver before conventional diagnosis is administered. The government of Nigeria has announced a budget of N12.66 trillion for the year 2021.  President Muhammadu Buhari   Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has announced an aggregate expenditure of N12.66 trillion for the 2021 financial year.   According to Buhari, 2021 budget would be based on an oil benchmark of $40 per barrel of crude oil.   President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday read on the floor of the Senate, the 2020 – 2021 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper from President Muhammadu Buhari.   The document forwarded to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari for approval proposed the sum of N12.66trillion as aggregate expenditure for 2021 on a deficit of N5.16 trillion to be financed by total loan packages of N4.28 trillion.   It further targeted N481.41billion as statutory transfers, N5.75trillion as recurrent expenditure, N3.33trillion for capital expenditure and N3.12 trillion for debt servicing.   The document equally projected $40 as oil

A great friend of President Muhammadu Buhari who died yesterday has been buried.  Isa Funtua buried in Abuja   Isa Funtua, the late founding President of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN) and former Managing Director of the Democrat Newspapers, has been buried.   He was buried on Tuesday at the Gudu Cemetery at Abuja.   The late elderstatesman died of cardiac arrest on Monday night at 78.   Isa Funtua was President Muhammadu Buhari’s political associate and in-law.   The Salat-al- Janazah was held before his burial at the Shehu Shagari Central Mosque, Area 1, Garki, Abuja.   It was preformed by the Chief Imam Area 1 Mosque, Sheikh Abdulahi Bala Yau.   Prayers were offered at his grave by the Chief Imam of National Mosque, Abuja, Dr Kabir.   Some of the dignitaries at the Janazah prayer and the burial include nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mamman Daura; former Ogun Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun; FCT Minister Mohammed Musa Bello; Senator Tunde Ogheha; Yobe

A woman alongside her accomplices have been apprehended by the EFCC over an alleged N179 million fraud.  The Suspect, Nkechi Mercy Ikogwe A woman, Nkechi Mercy Ikogwe alongside two companies, Elites Finance Investment Limited and Efinc Global Investment Limited, were on Monday arraigned before Justice E.A. Obile of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, over alleged N179 million fraud. EFCC arraigned them on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence contrary to Section 1(1) (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No. 14, 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act. The woman was said to have used the sum of N139,704,097 of the N179 million to play sport betting and also paid a tithe of N1 million to a church in Port Harcourt.
