Russia Completes Human Trials Of COVID-19 Vaccine

Russia has become the first country to have completed clinical trials of a Covid-19 vaccine candidate after Sechenov University said that it had concluded its study.  Russia Completes Human Trials Of COVID-19 Vaccine Russian has announced it has completed the human trials of a new Coronavirus vaccine, adding that test patients used for the trials will be discharged soon and the vaccine could be available by August. Russia sponsored and permitted clinical trials of two potential Coronavirus vaccines. The first one was developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and carried out at the Burdenko Military Hospital, while the second one was given to test patients at the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. N-Power: 4.48 Million Nigerians Fight For 400,000 Jobs

Over 4.48 million Nigerians have so far applied on the online portal for the recruitment of the third batch of N-Power. Sadiya Farouq Recruitment of the third batch of N-Power enrolees has so far received 4.48 million applications. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq made the announcement via her Twitter handle.  Farouq wrote; “My team and I continue to interface with stakeholders to ensure a successful transition for the @npower_ng. It has been 16 days since the portal opened and we have received 4.48 million applications to date”.   Recall that sixteen days after the portal was opened for application, the ministry said over 4million applications have been received. Two Madagascar Lawmakers Die Of COVID-19

Despite the Madagascar coronavirus serum, a member of the Senate and deputy has died after becoming infected with the coronavirus pandemic.  President Andry Rajoelina Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina has revealed that two lawmakers has died after being infected with COVID-19. One of the lawmakers is a member of the senate and the other a deputy. President Andry Rajoelina also revealed that eleven other deputies and 14 senators had also tested positive for the virus. Madagascar had on July 5 placed its capital Antananarivo under a fresh lockdown following a new surge in Coronavirus infections, two months after the restrictions were eased, the presidency announced Sunday. “The Analamanga region (under which the capital is situated) is returning to full lockdown ,” the presidency said in a statement. Many people have been left fearing for their lives as Abuja World Trade Centre is gutted by fire.  Abuja World Trade Centre currently on fire   A section of the World Trade Centre building located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja is currently on fire.   An eyewitness told The PUNCH that the fire started from the top of the skyscraper.   First responders including firefighters were yet to be seen at the incident scene as of the time of filing this report.   Details later…
