Blessing Osom and Tonto Dikeh Nigerian entrepreneur, Blessing Osom, in a recent Insta-live chat, addressed her fallout with estranged friend, Tonto Dikeh Information Nigeria  recalls  the friends turned enemies went back and forth  as they exchanged words on social media in 2019. During the Instagram live session, fans bombarded the entrepreneur with questions about her friendship with Dikeh. Osom responded saying that the actress is a nice person but she has a bad temper and sometimes, she ends up regretting her actions. The entrepreneur went on to say that she doesn’t have a problem with the single mum of one and they greet each other when they see. However, she said she doesn’t like drama and the actress is fond of calling out people on social media whenever she has a problem with them. FG Suspends Airline For Flying Naira Marley To Abuja

The Federal Government has suspended the operations of a private jet charter and aircraft maintenance firm, Executive Jet Services, for flouting COVID-19 regulations by flying Musician, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley, to Abuja to attend a concert. US astronauts enter space station

NASA astronauts entered the International Space Station on Sunday after a landmark 19-hour journey on the first crewed US spacecraft in nearly a decade, a triumph for SpaceX and private enterprise. The arrival completed the first leg of the trip, designed to test the capabilities of the Crew Dragon capsule. North Korea to reopen schools

North Korea will reopen schools this month after shuttering them over the coronavirus pandemic, reports said Monday. Pyongyang has not confirmed a single infection but has imposed strict rules, including closing its borders and putting thousands of its people into isolation. The new school term – initially scheduled to start early April – has been repeatedly postponed, although some universities and high schools were allowed to resume classes in mid-April. “New semesters will begin at elementary, middle and high schools nationwide from early June, and quarantine measures have been put in place for the reopening of nurseries and kindergartens,” Yonhap news agency reported, citing the North’s state radio. share this story with friends

Nigerian undergraduates die during sex in Owerri hotel

Two students of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, Cynthia Obieshi and Samuel Osuji, died during a sex romp at the weekend. The Police made the confirmation after the undergraduates were discovered dead on Sunday. Orlando Okeokwu, Police spokesman, in a statement, confirmed that the corpses had been deposited in the morgue. He said acting on a report received, “operatives of the Divisional Police Headquarters, Nekede/Ihiagwa Division, moved to Room 19, Vic-Mic Lodge” The hotel is situated around the JMJ bus stop. Okeokwu noted that officers “broke into the room and found the lifeless bodies of one Cynthia Obieshi and one Samuel Osuji”. The police said Cynthia visited her boyfriend, Samuel on June 13, 2020, and passed the night with him, “but unfortunately, both of them could not wake up the next morning”. Locals in Nganzai local government area of Borno State, northeast Nigeria, on Sunday said over 40 persons were killed in the aftermath of the attack by Boko Haram on Saturday. Nganzai, a local government in northern Borno and few kilometres to Maiduguri, the capital, came under attack earlier before the insurgents moved to Monguno where they were repelled by the Nigerian military. The story, however, was different in Nganzai as locals said there was no help for them when the insurgents attacked their town. According to the residents, local vigilante and hunters were left to engage the insurgents, who came with more superior fire power and overwhelmed the fighting men, leaving trails of blood. Nigerian doctors commence nationwide strike amid COVID-19 pandemic

Following the expiration of its notice, the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD)  has commenced a nationwide strike. NARD President, Dr Aliyu Sokomba, had warned that the doctors would embark on an industrial action if the Federal Government failed to meet its demands. In a circular Sunday night, the body ordered its members nationwide to down tools. The decision was consequent upon the 14 days ultimatum “served the government for indefinite strike action, in accordance with the resolution of the Ordinary General Meeting of the Association on the May 29”. NARD told all resident doctors, medical officers below the rank of Principal Medical Officer and House Officers across all the Federal and State hospitals in Nigeria, to embark “on a total and indefinite strike”. The strike took effect 12:01 am on Monday, 15th June 2020. The doctors were urged to make alternative arrangements for the care of patients. Pupils wearing face masks returned to school in Singapore on Tuesday and some workplaces re-opened as coronavirus restrictions were eased in the hard-hit city-state. Singapore initially kept infections low through a strict regime of testing and contact-tracing, only for major outbreaks to emerge from crowded dormitories housing low-paid foreign workers. The country has recorded over 35,000 cases – the highest official tally in Southeast Asia – with the vast majority among workers from the dorms. The death toll stands at 24. Authorities imposed a partial lockdown in early April, with schools and most workplaces told to close, and people only allowed to leave home for essential purposes. But with new infections slowing and no major outbreaks outside dorms, the government began easing measures Tuesday, with certain age groups allowed back to school and some workplaces re-opening. The Nigerian military has released video of Saturday’s aerial operation against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists. Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets pounded terrorists and their equipment after ground troops repelled an attack on Monguno in Borno State. Soldiers foiled an attempt to breach the town, although locals say the insurgents killed some civilians before troops’ intervention. Military spokesman, Major General John Enenche, in a statement on Sunday, said many terrorists were neutralized. Four of their gun trucks were destroyed, while troops captured some fighters and their weapons. The Defence Headquarters hailed them for the “dexterity and professionalism” exhibited during the operation. “The troops are further encouraged to remain resolute and decisive in their ground and air offensives in the theatre,” Enenche said. Sexual violence surges as man defiles three-year-old girl in Ogun

The raging rape epidemic is spreading like a wild fire across the country as more girls, mostly minors, continue to fall victims. A 23-year-old man, Badmus Qaudri, was at the weekend arrested by men of the Ogun State police command for defiling a three-year-old girl (name withheld). The suspect was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the victim, who reported the case at Owode Egbado police station. The mother explained that she noticed blood at the private part of her daughter when she returned from the market. On interrogating the daughter, she revealed that it was Quadri who took her into his room and had carnal knowledge of her. Upon receiving the report, the divisional police officer of Owode Egbado division, Olabisi Elebutte, led some detectives to the area where the suspect, who is a neighbour to the parents of the victim, was arrested after the victim identified him. A 34-year-old actor who is very popular has shocked many people after he reportedly took his own life.    Sushant Singh Rajpu   An Indian actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, who rose to become a formidable presence on the big screen, was found dead on Sunday afternoon.    The 'Kedarnath' actor was found hanging at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.
