COVID-19: Health workers at LUTH isolation centre decry non-payment of allowances

Health workers at the isolation centre at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, have raised the alarm over the Federal government’s failure to pay them their accrued COVID-19 allowance since the 7th of April 2020 when the hospital commenced treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The helpless workers who are risking their lives on a daily basis treating Nigerians with coronavirus disease are worried that what happened to them during the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak may be repeated.

Some of the workers who spoke to Vanguard under anonymity said while their counterparts at the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, Yaba have been paid, those in LUTH are still living on promises.

Shock As Notorious Criminal Alleged To Be The Son Of A Lagos Monarch Is Arrested During Operation

The suspect who is reportedly the son of a Lagos Monarch has been apprehended by the police for numerous crimes.    The Suspect, Yusuf Police operatives from Satellite Town in Lagos have arrested the notorious leader of a gang and he reportedly claimed he was the son of a Lagos monarch. The man identified as Yusuf aka Prince, was arrested at Abule Oshun where he allegedly led his gang to a warehouse to rob and extort the owners. Trouble was said to have started after members of the gang stormed a warehouse in Abule-Osun with the intention of extorting money from the owner but the attempt was resisted leading to a fierce crisis. The gang reportedly wounded scores of people and destroyed properties in the process.
