School Fees Reduction: All Vice Chancellors And School Proprietors Should Take Note Of This (OPINION)

All vice Chancellors and school proprietors should take note of this about what should be done on school fees reduction as school resumes.



Considering how the outbreak of Covid-19 has hampered the progress of different sectors in the country this year, there is no doubt that there will be changes in the activities of these sectors as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had earlier said that the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic have presented an unprecedented opportunity for Nigeria to reset critical sectors of its economy.

The educational sector should undergo changes that will be favourable for both members of the staff and students.



Enforcement of School fees Reduction should be considered as school resumes. This is because the whole population is facing a drop in income earnings as a result of how Covid-19 has affected Nigerian economy. As the Federal government lifted lockdown for over three months, many have been at home without any source of income. How then will they cope with the payment of school fees?

Also, the persistent rise in Covid-19 cases which has led to the enforcement of curfews on individuals has hampered the progress of many businesses. As a result of this, payment of school fees might be a difficult task as schools resume.

Apart from government workers, other individuals should be considered and let the government enforce reduction of school fees as school resumes soon.

After the death of former Oyo state governor on Thursday, it was expected that he would be buried within 24 hours according to Islamic rites. But surpringly, the funeral rites of ex Senator and Governor, and has been postponed by the family. The postponement was announced by Bolaji Tunji, a spokesperson for the family of the deseased. According to the Nation Newspaper, Tunji told reporters in his Oluyole, Ibadan residence on Friday morning that the family would soon make an announcement of the burial programme.
