BUA Ports resumes operations, as NPA withdraws termination notice

BUA Ports and Terminals, a subsidiary of BUA Group, will soon resume operations at the BUA Terminals within the Rivers Ports.

This is just as the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) is set to immediately withdraw the notice of termination of concession it had earlier issued BUA in 2019.

The NPA had, in May 2019, decommissioned the BUA Terminals within the Rivers Ports, following a disagreement between the NPA and BUA over repairs of a jetty in the terminal — a move BUA contested.

A statement by BUA Group, on Wednesday, revealed that plans are in top gear to immediately restart operations.

After the death of former Oyo state governor on Thursday, it was expected that he would be buried within 24 hours according to Islamic rites. But surpringly, the funeral rites of ex Senator and Governor, and has been postponed by the family. The postponement was announced by Bolaji Tunji, a spokesperson for the family of the deseased.
