The embattled acting chairman of EFCC suspended by the President has finally been released from detention.

Suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has finally regained his freedom.
 
He was released on Wednesday evening, according to Premium Times.
 
His release comes more than a week after being arrested and whisked before a special presidential probe panel over corruption allegations.

Following rampant allegations of corruption, Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked to resign.  President Muhammadu Buhari   The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to tender his resignation over alleged rampant cases of corruption in federal agencies.   According to The Nations, the national chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, made the call in an ongoing media parley in Abuja.   Secondus cited ongoing corruption investigations in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), and others.   The PDP chairman said corruption has become a way of life among Nigerians while President Buhari plays the ostrich.   He accused the president of abandoning his promise to fight corruption during electioneering campaigns in 2015 and 2019.   The call comes days after members of the House of Representatives on the platf...

After the death of former Oyo state governor on Thursday, it was expected that he would be buried within 24 hours according to Islamic rites. But surpringly, the funeral rites of ex Senator and Governor, and has been postponed by the family. The postponement was announced by Bolaji Tunji, a spokesperson for the family of the deseased. According to the Nation Newspaper, Tunji told reporters in his Oluyole, Ibadan residence on Friday morning that the family would soon make an announcement of the burial programme. He said that the burial would be observed privately so as to be in accordance with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines.
