Bobrisky arrested over ‘N30 million fraud’

Police detectives from Abuja, on Thursday, arrested cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, over an alleged N30m fraud.

It was gathered that Bobrisky was arrested at the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Newsmen learnt that a yet-to-be-identified businesswoman petitioned the police and alleged that Bobrisky fraudulently collected the sum of N30m from her.

It was learnt that Bobrisky was later granted an administrative bail.


The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, who confirmed the arrest, stated that the matter was under investigation.

He said, “He (Bobrisky) was arrested, but he has been granted bail; he is no longer in our custody but he is still under investigation. He was arrested on the allegation by a businesswoman that he fraudulently collected N30m from her.

After the death of former Oyo state governor on Thursday, it was expected that he would be buried within 24 hours according to Islamic rites. But surpringly, the funeral rites of ex Senator and Governor, and has been postponed by the family. The postponement was announced by Bolaji Tunji, a spokesperson for the family of the deseased.
